Pattern: Dice Check
Stitch Count Repeat: Multiple of 4 sts

Comments: One of my favorite color patterns, but this picture doesn’t do it justice. It is very easy to work. It can look like a plaid if you choose similar color combinations or it can look like a checked fabric you choose random colors. If you want the “plaid” effect, make color A the “middle” color (light purple in my sample).

Comments: Lays flat. I started with the lighter color as the main with the darker color as the accent, but didn’t like it as much. I changed to the dark as main with light as accent & finished it as that combination. I’ve shown both in the first photo, the lighter is at the bottom. You decide! Reverse side is interesting, so could be reversible if desired. Photo of reverse included.

Woven Plaid

Woven Plaid

Yarn: Lion Brand Microspun

For a 36-line, two color pattern, this is a relatively easy stitch. As BW explains, there are is really only an eight row repeat, and even this has a pretty simple logic. Once you understand the pattern, you may find you don’t have to refer to the directions at all. I found that reading the instructions was more work than just knitting them. The trickiest part is keeping the tension correct for the floats.
