Cluster Stitch

Cluster-Stitch

Yarn: Rowan RYC Extra Fine Merino DK

Wraps Per Inch: 11 wpi

Needles: 4mm US 6

Gauge: 5 st per inch

Pattern: Cluster Stitch

Stitch Count Repeat: Multiple of 6ts

Book: A Treasury of Knitting Patterns

Page: 288

Difficult Techniques: Knit stitches for cluster, slip stitches onto cable needle, wrap working yarn around stitches, return to  right hand needle.

Comments: First 2 repeats yarn is wrapped loosely so as not to disturb ground. 2nd 2 repeats yarn wrapped very tightly. If wrapping tightly, the cable needle needs to be as large as (or larger than) working needles. You cannot work this without a 3rd needle of some sort.

This is a pretty stitch that would probably be lovely in a fine yarn. Thanks for the extra comments, too.
