Stockinette Stitch, Twisted

Twisted Stockinette

Yarn:  Bouton d’Or : Cérès, Color: Naturel (worsted)
Wraps Per Inch:  14 wpi
Needles: 4.5 mm /  7 US /  7 BWG
Gauge:  22 sts. & 29 rows to 10cm (4″)
Pattern: Stockinette Stitch, Twisted
Stitch Count Repeat:  Multiple of 1 st.
Book: A Treasury of Knitting Patterns
Page: 10

Comments, if any: Creates a denser than normal fabric, though still very soft and supple. As with Stockinette tends to up and down from cast on and cast off edges or if held by cast on edge, sides curl towards back. Would make a nice jacket or vest.

Am working on a cotton summer sweater in this stitch. It is firmer than stockinette and for that reason gives the cotton yarn a little more stability.
