Comments: The fabric with this stitch is quite firm, much firmer than stockinette. It still stretches width-wise, but not so much in length.

    Wow this pattern really jumps out in this photo. Looks great in blue and photo really show up the textures well.

    Not stretching in length while still stretchy sideways means it might be perfect to use with alpaca, which stretches most awfully.
