Cording Stitch

Cording Stitch A

Yarn: Patons Classic Wool Merino Natural & Denim
Wraps Per Inch: 11 wpi
Needles: US 7 Boye interchangable circulars
Gauge: 16 sts/25sts per row over 4 inches (The cording makes measuring row gauge difficult)
Stitch Count Repeat: Any number of sts
Book: A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns
Page: 135

Knit by: phoenix

Extra notes: The cords take up a lot of yarn particularly if you make the cords bigger (cord size depends on how many rows used.)
BW mentions that cording stitch is not suitable for vertical combinations in the same stitch piece because the cords pull up the knitting and cause puckering. She also suggests trying it in multiple colors:

Cording Stitch B

Cording Stitch C

The same swatches with underlighting to emphasize the cording.
