Four-Lobed Escutcheon

IMGP2773

Yarn: Sirdar Tropicana, cotton effect dk
Wraps Per Inch: 10 wpi
Needles: 3mm aluminium (prym)
Gauge: 27 st and 38 rows to 10cm/4 inches in stockinette
Pattern: Four-Lobed Escutcheon
Stitch Count Repeat: Multiple of 27 stitches
Book: Charted Knitting Designs – A Third Treasury of Knitting Patterns
Page: 126

Difficult techniques:
1- ’starting’ the closed cable can be tricky to get even. I used the second of the two options given for the central double increase in the key at the start of the book.
2 – look out for the four ‘clusters’ in the chart. Pull them tighter than you think is necessary, because when you block the work they will then look even and the ‘floating’ thread will lie flat but not loose.

Another lovely cable swatch. This is a favorite because of its graceful curves. Very nicely knit.
